The City of Klamath Falls is a vibrant, cohesive community built on a strong economic base which balances urbanization with its existing historic character and values.

Mission:

To further the vision, the City of Klamath Falls provides essential services and infrastructure to promote the social and economic health of the community. The role of the City Council is to provide the leadership necessary to fulfill this mission.

Goals:

- Conduct one or more long-term fiscal planning sessions with Council and Budget Committee members
- Develop staff transition strategies
- Improve law enforcement facilities
- Promote air service
- (a) Develop and market City industrial lands around the airport, and (b) market the City's business and industrial lands on the airport
- Decrease or eliminate the General Fund tax subsidy to the Cemetery
- Increase communication between City and County on fiscal matters of common concern
- Maintain public access to Link River Trail
- Continue development of the South Portal Project
- Work with the Oregon Department of Transportation on acquisition and relocation of propane facility on Riverside
- Continue to support industrial development throughout the community
- Extend geothermal connections to Veterans Memorial and within TimberMill Shores
- Develop new street funding resources
- Complete the East Main extension to Crosby
- Complete the Community Development Ordinance and Comprehensive Plan Updates
- Update the community's buildable lands inventory
- Monitor the quality and quantity of existing affordable housing in community partnership with KLamath Housing Authority
- Internal Process review (Engineering and Planning)
- Portland Street Quiet Zone
- Pursue alternative energy initiatives and encourage sustainable practices
- Complete facility plan for Southside Park near Hosanna School.
