History of Zumbrota:
In 1856, the Strafford Western Immigration Company traveled west from Massachusetts to find a new homestead. Coming upon the beautiful Zumbro River Valley, Zumbrota's Photo History Book they founded the settlement that would become the City of Zumbrota. The predominately German and Scandinavian settlers began the work of building churches, schools, shops and grain mills. Following the bustle of settlement, the railroads arrived in Zumbrota in 1870. The town continued to grow with their help, while still holding on to its heritage.
