We have a vegetable CSA, called From the Ground Up, on 20 acres. Our pick-up sites include the farm and Dupont Circle in Washington DC, and our members always have a list of crops they can you-pick for free any time at the farm. Clagett Farm also raises grass-fed beef and operates a native tree nursery. As a property of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, we take school trips on educational field trips of the farm and the nearby Patuxent River (www.cbf.org). And all summer, we welcome individuals who would like to come work for vegetables, Monday-Saturdays.
We are committed stewards of our environment, and distribute 40-50% of our produce to low-income individuals in D.C. We raise a wide variety of vegetables, as well as a few melons and strawberries. One share typically feeds 2 adults.
