The Comanche was built in 1966 by John and Pearl Groy. At that time all that was in the area was prairie and a beautiful view. The beautiful view remains but the area has grown tremendously. Houses surround the once isolated land, but the Drive In survives. The theatre ran every summer until 2008. It reopened briefly in 2012. This summer, old classics as well as newer movies will once again fill the nostalgic screen.
