About Us
Community Consolidated School District 62 is comprised of 8 elementary schools (K-5), 2 middle schools (6-8) and one year-round school of choice enrolling students from kindergarten through eighth grade. Our elementary schools include Central Elementary School, Cumberland Elementary School, Forest Elementary School, North Elementary School, Orchard Place Elementary School, Plainfield Elementary School, South Elementary School, and Terrace Elementary School. Our middle schools are Algonquin Middle School and Chippewa Middle School. Our year-round school is Iroquois Community School. District 62 serves 4,890 students.
The district receives the majority of its revenue from local property taxes. The district has an Equalized Assessed Valuation (EAV) of $1.55 billion and a total operating budget of $45.2 million. Local funding accounts for approximately 84.4% of the total budget. Funding from state sources is $4.9 million, representing 10.9% of the district’s total budget. Federal revenues are $2.1 million which represents 4.7% of the total budget.
