About Us:
            Compton Academy is a small, independent private school founded on the belief that all students can succeed if provided with appropriate instruction and a nurturing environment. Compton Academy offers an alternative education model for students in grades nine through twelve. Students receive customized instruction based on their personal educational profile. Laura Compton, owner and instructor of Compton Academy, brings a degree in secondary education and fifteen years of experience working with youths ranging in ages from fourteen to twenty.

            Compton Academy recognizes the importance of academic success for all students; in addition, a student’s sense of self-worth and self-concept are emphasized and held in the utmost importance on a student’s road to success. Compton Academy offers caring and compassionate instructors who facilitate the following services for their students:

            Compton Academy offers an academic opportunity for a diverse set of students. Many students who have difficulty in larger classroom settings respond well to instruction in a small, structured environment where they feel comfortable and at ease with caring teachers. Students who attend Compton Academy may choose to graduate from the program or transition back into a larger, regular setting if appropriate. Continued feedback regarding a student’s progress, both academically and socially, is considered in future school placement.
