CIEE is a non-profit organization that has been in operation for more than 62 years and specializes in international work and education. Our mission is "to help people gain understanding, acquire knowledge and develop skills for living in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world."
We are seeking host families for our high school aged foreign exchange students who are hoping to come to America for one semester or school year to practice their English and experience the culture. In return, Local Coordinators and host families can learn about another culture, enjoy lifelong friendships with students and new friends in the community, have fun, fulfill a dream of a young person, be an ambassador for America, and more.
Host Families:
Accept a student into their home as a "host son or daughter" for one or two semesters
Provide a bed and room
Share meals
Claim a flat $50 per mo tax deduction for hosting
Receive local and regional support 24/7 for any needs
Students:
Aged 15 to 18
Well screened
Speak English
Have own money to buy what they need
Have full coverage health insurance
