Cove Creek School serves 300 students from the Sugar Grove and Vilas communities in Watauga County. Students are assigned to Cove Creek School in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade.

While students in grades K-5 are served in a traditional self-contained elementary program, students in grades 6-8 participate in a "school within a school" middle school program.

Cove Creek offers opportunities for students in visual arts, band, orchestra, vocational education, foreign language, and a variety of athletic and exploratory courses.

Cove Creek School is well-equipped with a variety of technological equipment and is staffed with teachers involved in integrating technology in the classroom. There is a full-time technology specialist to assist students and faculty.
