The Mission of the Crawford Park District is to create, preserve, protect and manage a system of parks, nature preserves and outdoor recreational facilities held in public ownership by the citizens of Crawford County for the leisure use and enjoyment of this and future generations, with a focus on local cultural, historical and natural resources.
We formulated this mission statement early in the existence of the Crawford Park District this has been our guiding principle ever since.
The Crawford Park District has been recognized by two state-wide awards: In 1999, the Crawford Park District received an Outstanding Park Area Development Award for Lowe-Volk Park from the Ohio Parks and Recreation Association. In 2003, the Crawford Park District received an Award of Excellence Facility Development Award for the Lowe-Volk Park Nature Center from the Ohio Parks and Recreation Association.
