Mission Statement

CrossRoad Church frames its ministry and mission around the reality that life is a journey, and one which is a dead end unless Jesus is invited to walk along side. We see our task, therefore, as one of bringing people to an appreciation of their need to receive Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord, and to have Him walk along side them, teaching them about Himself, just as He did with those disciples on the road to Emmaus so many centuries ago.

Our Beliefs

A Statement of Beliefs (sometimes referred to as a "Doctrinal Statement") is an important document for a body of believers to share. It codifies for us a common ground of Scriptural interpretation and application. While we are aware that not everyone may hold absolutely identical beliefs, we nevertheless set forth a Statement of Beliefs that guide us into a harmony of what we feel is Biblical truth. It is these basic beliefs that shape our fellowship.

We believe that the Bible is God’s Word, that it was written by men divinely and uniquely inspired, that it is absolutely trustworthy and that it is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. We believe the Bible to Inerrant and infallible in its original autographs.

We believe in God the Father, creator of heaven and earth, perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom and measureless in power. We rejoice that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer and that He saves from sin and death all those who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He was sinless in His life and made atonement for our sin, and the sin of the whole world, by His substitutionary death on the cross of Calvary. We believe that He is co-eternal, co-existent and co-equal with God the Father. We believe in His vicarious death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension into Heaven, His priestly intercession for us and His personal, visible return to the world, according to His promise, before the Millennium.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, Who was sent by God to convict the world of sin, to show righteousness, to proclaim judgment and to regenerate, sanctify and comfort those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe that all men, by nature and by choice, are sinners but that “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” We believe, there, that those who believe and profess that Jesus Christ is Savior will rejoice forever in the presence of God and also that those who refuse to believe that Christ is Savior will be forever separated from God.

We believe in the new birth as stated by Jesus in John 3. We believe that this spiritual regeneration of our soul is accomplished by confession of our sin and profession of our belief that Jesus paid our sin debt. He has therefore made us a new creation and a child of God.

We believe in the Church as a living, spiritual body of which Christ is the Head and of which all regenerated people are members. We believe that a visible church is a company of believers in Jesus Christ, buried with Him in baptism and associated for worship, ministry and fellowship. We believe that the ordinances of baptism and communion were committed to these visible churches until He returns to earth, as He promised. We also believe that every Christian is eligible to participate in the communion service. We further believe that God has laid upon the church the responsibility to proclaim to a lost world that Jesus is Savior and Lord.

We believe that this local church shall be independent and autonomous and that it must remain free from undue entanglements or interference from any ecclesiastical or political authority. The Church and State have different functions and each must be free to fulfill their mission without dictation by the other. We recognize, however, that this separation does not deny the individual the responsibility to participate in their government.

We believe that Heaven is real and is the eternal dwelling place of all believers. We also believe that Hell is real and is the eternal dwelling place of unbelievers.
