The DamJam is a one-day music and arts event in Denmark, ME.  Founded in 2012, and produced by the Denmark Arts Center, the DamJam combines a family-friendly afternoon with an indie-rock evening, and has hosted everything from the drum-centered afrobeat of the  12-person Ghanaian Hi-Life ensemble, Akwaaba, to the experimental cartoon noise-pop of Deerhoof.   Other alumni include Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra (and TraLaLa Band); Kristin Hersh, the Burlington Taiko Ensemble, Micah Blue Smaldone, Jacob Augustine, Sunset Hearts, Oble Varnum, the Milkman's Union, CokeWeed, and more.
