Decatur Human Services was first organized in Decatur, Michigan, in 1987. Our main purpose is to help the needy and we exist mostly on money we make through the efforts of our volunteers.
Our creed is that we were organized to promote and co-ordinate distribution of emergency assistance to people of all ages, without regard to race, religion, sex or ethnic origin. Our main emphasis is on providing food, clothing, utilities, medicines and auto fuel on a short-term basis. Our service area is the townships of Decatur and Hamilton, and the village of Decatur in Van Buren County, Michigan.
