The Deerfield Area Historical Society is an all volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and interpreting local history and architecture in Deerfield, Bannockburn, Riverwoods and Lincolnshire. The Historical Society created and maintains the Deerfield Historic Village - five buildings of historic interest including the 1837 Casper Ott log house, Lake County's oldest surviving building.
Through our historic buildings, exhibits, preservation projects and programs, we bring history to life and share it with the community.
We examine local history and architecture and what contributes to the Deerfield area's identity.
Volunteers are the heart of the Deerfield Area Historical Society. The Historic Village was created through the efforts of volunteers committed to preserving and interpreting Deerfield's history.
