PTSA - Parent, Teacher, Student Association.
Desert Springs Middle School PTSA is part of the 23rd District PTA at the county level, and works closely with Riverside County Office of Education. Chartered in 1927, they encompass all of Riverside County, California, serving over 250 unit (school site) PTAs, within 11 council (school district/s) PTAs. They also serve out of council units in Banning, Beaumont, Blythe, Desert Hot Springs, Indio, Palm Desert, Palm Springs, and Thermal.
The mission of the National PTA is to support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the school, in the community and before governmental bodies and other organizations, to assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children and to encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools.
