Our Mission :
The Dowagiac District Library creates an environment in our community for all people to learn, to explore, to create, to interact.
The library provides access to ideas, information, experiences and materials that support and enrich people's lives by preserving the past, promoting the present, and embracing the future.
About Us:
The Dowagiac Library began serving the Dowagiac community since its founding in 1904. Since its reincorporation as a district library in 2004, the Dowagiac District Library has also provided service to the neighboring Silver Creek, Keeler, Wayne and Bainbridge townships.
As public libraries grow and develop with the times, libraries have begun to expand their services as well. While you can find over 30,000 books at our library, you can also find movies, newspapers, public computers, wi-fi, special events, meeting places and more. We provide every service here at the Dowagiac District Library at no cost to the public.
