East Bay Bariatric Support Group

2070 Clinton Avenue, Conf. Room C, Ground Floor by ER

About

We are an independent, peer support group, meaning there are no doctors, nurses or bariatric coordinators present.  It's just us patients supporting each other on this amazing and sometimes scary journey called bariatric or weight loss surgery (WLS).  We have been meeting monthly since March 2001.

-Meetings are free

-Meetings are held the third Saturday of every month

-Registration is not required.  Just show up!

-Membership is not required

Whether you are considering, are pre-op, newly post-op or your surgery was years ago, there is a place for you in our group.  We are a great way for you to "give back" to our special community.

As you know, WLS is not for everyone and it is certainly not the "easy way out" from obesity.  Even after the weight is gone, long-term support is critical to your success, therefore, we are always here for you.  If you have regained any of your weight, please come to meetings!  Pre-ops need to learn from you too. You will not be judged and you are certainly not alone.  Our group is recognized by Bariatric Support Centers International and ObesityHelp.com.  Our leader is certified by both organizations.

We look forward to seeing you.  Explore our site.  Let us know if you have any questions.

Mission Statement

East Bay Bariatric is a supportive and valuable resource for people who have had or are considering weight loss surgery.  Our meetings offer education, encouragement and community to help people determine if bariatric surgery is right for them and/or to reach and maintain their optimum weight loss.  Together we provide insight for supporters and information for those interested in learning more about the surgical treatment of obesity.
