History:

East Side Baptist Church was formed at a tent revival meeting on May 27, 1912 as Second Missionary Baptist Church of Christ. Rev. G.A. Crocker was the first Pastor in our Church history. The first known record of the name "East Side Baptist Church" appeared in the January 25, 1931 church minutes. In 1947, East Side started a mission church on Lake Street. That Church continues today. From 1960, East Side began to grow steadily.

On December 15, 1985, Church members were devastated to hear that the sanctuary had burned down. The church rallied together and services continued that day at the community center. The Church body continued to meet in the gym until the present, beautiful sanctuary was built.

Someday, we will know how many people were introduced to Christ since that first tent revival meeting. God has worked through this body of believers for 90 years and we believe that God has wonderful plans for East Side's future. To God be the Glor
