Erath County Senior Citizens, Inc. was formed to engage in and promote all activities and projects necessary to improve the economic, physical, educational, recreational, and mental welfare of senior citizens that are residents of Erath County, Texas.

History:

A special need arose due to the notification by Somervell County Committee on Aging, Inc. (SCCOA), that the numbers of home delivered meals for Erath County would be sharply decreased without additional funding to SCCOA to support that program in Erath County.  This agency was formed in an attempt to maintain levels of service previously provided by SCCOA through September 1995, and to apply for the title III Federal Grant that was previously provided to SCCOA in order to serve Erath County.  Concerned citizens from Dublin and Stephenville established a Board of Directors for the Erath County Senior Citizens, Inc. dba Meals on Wheels of Erath County.  The agency was formed as a non-profit corporation on March 16, 1995.
