Mission:
The members of our church are called to live intentionally for Jesus with a passion to influence other’s for Him. Jesus gave the church it’s marching orders in Matthew 28:18-20, “ Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you."
At First Mansfield everything we do will focus on...
SHARING CHRIST. The cornerstone of our church is Jesus Christ. He claimed to be God in the flesh, and proved this to be true by rising from the dead. We value His words to us and know that He came "to seek and to save the lost". Jesus preached a message of Good News, and it is our desire to continue sharing this message with all who will listen.
EQUIPPING BELIEVERS. The Christian life is not purely about a set of beliefs that one embraces. It's more about how those beliefs influence a persons life and relationships. Followers of Jesus are strengthened, and become more like Christ, when they learn the value of gathering together in order to "spur one another on toward love and good deeds."
LIVING MISSIONALLY. As a member of the body of Christ (the church), we are called by God to "do the work of the ministry". (Ephesians 4:12) Disciples are gifted by God to do "good works" (Ephesians 2:10) and they are active in doing these "good works". (James 1:22) At First Mansfield we will be intentionally missional. We are ambassadors for Christ and will represent Him by loving those who have yet to hear to Good News of Jesus Christ.
About Us:
First Baptist Church is a member of the Southern Baptist Convention which, by the grace of God, is the largest Protestant denomination in the United States. We affirm the fact that there are other devoted Christians who exist in a large number of other denominations. As Baptists, there are certain distinct practices of the faith which we hold dear. Many of these are the same practices that distinguish us from other denominations.
