Revelations 3:8 "Behold I set before you an open door and no man can shut it." This was the title of one of the first messages preached by Pastor John B. Rednour, Sr., also the founder of the First Pentecostal Church of Havana which was established in March of 2000. He had obediently answered the call and met the challenge. Now where? Who? How? All these questions drove him further to his knees and on his face before the Lord. He was faithful never to pursue any undertaking without first consulting the one he knew ruled and reigned in his life. He knew the one who had and would continue to order his footsteps.

The article below was written in May of 2001 by our pastor's wife in celebration of the church's First Year Anniversary in the store front located at 313 North The Store Front Located at Main Street and will help explain FPCH's beginning. "The first year at the First Pentecostal Church of Havana has produced beautiful results. What began with eleven people praying in a small family room in our Pastor's home has resulted in approximately 100 souls, at least once or more, being drawn to His presence and power in this little 1,800 sq. ft. sanctuary dedicated and equipped with God's Holy anointing. There is now water with our baptismal complete, so what doeth hinder us. The Lord emptied the other half of our building for us to occupy and begin renovations for Sun-day School the beginning of June. Sure there have been obstacles, there always will be, but we are MORE then conquerors and OUR GOD IS A BLESSING GOD! Truly He has set before us an open door that no man can shut."

With seven baptized in the name of Jesus, three receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and many lives having been re-stored, the quest for a permanent home become evident to our Shepard. Having preached more than once on God's promises, he grasped a handful of those promises and prayerfully pursued that open door. But WHEN - WHAT - WHERE is it Lord?.
