We have a crystal clear mission as United Methodists: to make new disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
Knowing that it is only by God’s grace that any of us is saved helps us make room for everyone. We envision being a community of believers who model our lives on the teachings of Jesus; sharing, caring and loving the way Jesus loves. As followers of Jesus, we are prepared to “do a new thing” for the Lord in this ever-changing world, while holding fast to scripture, prayer and other spiritual practices that keep us in close relationship to God and one another.
Since the church represents Christ to the world, we must be sure that we give an accurate picture to those looking on. What was important to Jesus when He was among us should be important to us now. Christ loved, therefore we love. Christ served, therefore we serve. Christ did the will of God, therefore we must make every effort to find out and obey the will of God.
