In 1950 the old church was razed and the congregation moved to the American Legion Hall while a new building was constructed in the style of the chapel at Perkins School of Theology at SMU. The first service in the new church was held on
The bell from the old church was preserved in a tower at the rear of the church and is still rung for services.
