THE
FIRST UNIVERSALIST SOCIETY, affiliated with
the Unitarian Universalist Association, was founded in
1856. This is a religious community that welcomes
people with a wide range of theological beliefs and
spiritual practices. Our understanding is that truth and
wisdom come through exposure to the sacred texts of
all religions and from the great teachers of all times,
and therefore the open, inquiring mind is important to
us, as well as the generous, compassionate heart.
We attempt to live out the reality that diversity need
not mean divisiveness. We also take seriously our
responsibility to help make this a world in which
justice, equity, and peace will be available to all.
Sunday morning worship and Religious Education for
children and youth takes place at 262 Chestnut Street in Franklin at 10AM.
