Mission:
Fletcher Community Farm aims to provide great tasting and naturally grown food to the greater Haverhill community, and to promote a culture of local food and self-reliance.
About Us:
Fletcher Community Farm was founded in the Winter of 2010. With a passion for local, quality, and naturally grown food and we decided to be the change we want to see in our community. It is managed by Don Cox with wife Laura Scholten and with the help of friends, family, and volunteers.
We are fortunate to have access to lush farmland that is a part of the Barbara Anne Fletcher Land Trust. Dick and Barbara Anne Fletcher bought their first plot in the late 1960’s and continued to expand their farm from there, raising hay and a small herd of cows. Their wish was that the land be preserved as a farm forever and we are honored to uphold that promise.
At the farm we grow over 20 different types of vegetables and herbs that are available at the Haverhill Farmers' Market. We also raise sheep, goats, chickens, and have been planting fruit trees. Using sustainable and environmentally-friendly practices, we want to set an example of how farming can be done and we want to share the experience with anyone who wants to be a part of it.
