Mission Statement
Through its endeavors, the Florana international Film Festival seeks to support the up-and-comingfilmmakers and artists of tomorrow while also providing support for initiatives and organizations that combat climate change. The Festival began in 2020 with nothing more than threecollege students and a mission to help put an end to climate change. As artists themselves, the founders NicholasTell and Ruairidh and Michael Kerr saw first-handthe effect the Coronavirus has had on creatives and artists.
Combining these elements, the founders set out with their vision for a festival that would be equal parts of raising funds for climate-basedcharities and giving a platform to artists from around the world. The Florana International Film Festival has secured partnerships with Heal the Bay as well as The Roundhouse to forward their missions of oceanographic education and the restoration of the pacific coastal waters.
The goals of the festival are very simple: to connect and protect. We use our festival as a means for all aspiring filmmakers and artiststo showcase their new works while also helping to make our world safer and healthier.
