The Florence Welcoming Club has been serving Florence since 1986. It seeks to provide residents and newcomers to our area an opportunity to develop new friendships by participating in various civic and social activites in the community. The membership meets at 7p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month from September to June. Our monthly meetings are generally held at The Lutheran Church of the Incarnate Word, 1900 Second Loop Road. Visitors are always welcome and a member will be available to greet and introduce you to the other members.

There are 10 general meetings per program year of which 6 include a guest speaker representing the varied interests of the members or information regarding one of the many available programs and activities in the area. The remaining four meetings are three fun filled social events and one exciting fund raising auction.

A newsletter is sent monthly to the membership informing them of the club's activities and future special events. Throughout the month, smaller groups with different interests meet in various settings. Examples of some of the special interest groups are: Book Club, Nimble Fingers, Bunco, Canasta, Recipe Club and Girl's Day or Night Out. New groups are formed based on the interests of the members.
