MISSIONS :

As the Great Commission states, our Mission is to reach, both spiritually and physically, all people in our community and throughout the world. Therefore, we are dedicated to the support of all mission activities of our church.

History:

Beyond court records not much is known of Crossroad's early days except that the Baptists shared the one-room building with the Cumberland Presbyterians.  Heating was supplied by a coal-burning, pot-belly stove and all five Sunday School classes met in the one room.  In 1949, the Baptists purchased the Presbyterians' share of the property.

In 1956, new facilities were built directly east of the original building. By 1972, the church had been enlarged to seat 250 and included a baptistry with an added educational wing.  The first full-time pastor was called in March 1973.  This set the stage for dramatic growth for Franklin Crossroads in the years since.

FCBC became the mother church to Harvest Baptist in Custer until it became constitued in 1999.

In 1990, Franklin Crossroads instituted two Sunday morning services and was listed among the top 100 churches in Kentucky for baptisms.

As the church continued to be blessed with growth, the church purchased 18 acres in 1997 on which to build its current-day worship center.  Groundbreaking for the 33,000 square foot facility was held on June 29, 1998.  The first service in the 650-seat sanctuary was conducted April 2, 2000.

One church two locations best described Franklin Crossroads beginning in November 2007 when a second campus opened in Elizabethtown.  The church made a bold move when it saw a need in Elizabethtown and began holding services on Sunday morning and evenings in the old Severns Valley Baptist building.  In November 2010, that campus moved to its own location on W. Dixie Avenue in Elizabethtown.  The second campus continued to grow and mulitply with God's blessing.  The campus then became autonomous in January 2012.

Franklin Crossroads Baptist has always been a very missions-minded church since its beginning.  The church was recognized for its Cooperative Program giving in 2012 when it reached $1 million. Through a very active missions program, mission trips have been conducted locally and to many countries around the world.  Believing whole-heartedly in Acts 1:8, Franklin Crossroads strives to be evangelistic through great revivals and community outreach also.
