From the very first verse in the very first book of the Bible, we believe that God is the author and completer of life. Therefore life, our lives, and all that lives, is about God. That is what we want our lives to be about. That is what we want our church to be about. That is what we want for those we meet and who become a part of our church family.
We also found what God is all about a few more verses from that first. God said, "'Let us make man in our image, after our likeness...' So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them." Without going into much detail about this here, it can go without much discussion that God is about relationships. He is three persons in one being who has dwelt in perfect relational harmony forever. He is love and expresses that love through relationships. When a relationship is not right, He will do what is necessary to make 'rightness' possible.
Jesus sums these concepts up into what He called the two greatest commandments. "And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets."" (Matthew 22:37-40, ESV)
This leads us to the mission of developing friendship with God and others as Christ loved us. Will you join us in worshiping this Great God and loving others?
