Like other organizations, we offer an alternative to girl scouting in Rhode Island but with a lot of advantages. One of the biggest advantages to the leaders is never having to worry about where they will meet or if they will be able to meet in the same place the following year like a lot of other leaders do in other organziations. We will NEVER have to worry about this! As members of Frontier Girls we are allowed to meet in the privacy of our own home, as long as there are two adult present. So the troop will NEVER have to worry about losing where they meet or having to plan around someone elses event and concentrate on what matters!

    In the fall of 2011 we had the honor of being the first people to form a troop and bring Frontier Girls as an alernative to girl scouting to Rhode island.

    We are located mintues away from 95 on the Rhode Island and CT border (exit 1). We do not have a set meeting night but work on Frontier Girls as much as possible. Since Frontier Girls is not as well known in our area as other states our troop is very small right now. The Rhode Island troop is accepting membership from the ages of 8-11 (not grade level) and it doesn't matter if you live in Hopkinton, Ashaway, Westerly, Pawcatuck, Ct. If we find that age groups need to be opened up in our troop for girls who are getting older, siblings, cousins or requests from our community we will open those age groups accordantly. Parents are welcome to be involved in troops matters and stay at meetings, our troop actually has positions open for parent who would like to volunteer (adult membership is FREE!).

    We believe that our child are the adults of tommorrow and they should be offered every opportunty to grow, learn about themselves and express themselves. We also believe that every girl should have every opportunity to learn about the world around them, learn about leadership, courage and the skills they will need when they become and adult.
We ...feel that we can make all of this possible because of 5 reasons;

1. We have 3 experienced leaders from 3 different backgrounds that are in constant contact with each other.

2. The Frontier Girls organization gives out-of-this-world support to their leaders!

3. With the help of having over 1,200 badges that touch on almost every part of life. Girls will have the opportunities to explore interests they have or experience new interest they never thought of before.

4. Girls can work on awards to better themselves or to better their community.

5.Girls get to pick what fundraiser they want to do or if they even want to have a fundraiser. Troops also keep 100% of the money they earn and can apply it to keeping cost down for the troop like; dues, uniforms,paying for registerations and much more.
