History:

They were originally members of the Danish-Norwegian Conference. Through successive mergers, the congregation has been part of many conferences, synods or church organizations, all being Lutheran in origin. The most recent merger was the formation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Throughout the years, this congregation held services faithfully and built their buildings to serve the purpose for which the congregation was formed. The first church was built in 1890, one mile north and one mile west of Roelyn. This structure burned down in 1950 during a thunderstorm. Immediate plans were made to rebuild, but this time in Roelyn, the present site of Fulton Lutheran Church. In 1956 a parsonage was built east of the church and in 1966 an educational unit was added. It is with a sense of pride that the 126 members carry on the fine traditions of the founders of this congregation.
