We are a part of the Church of God denomination, a full gospel Pentecostal group formed in the state of Tennessee in the year 1886 and currently headquartered in Cleveland, Tennessee. Our local church, established in 1915, is the second oldest of our denomination in the state of South Carolina and the oldest Pentecostal church in the city of Rock Hill. Our present sanctuary was built in 1961, and the neighboring older sanctuary, now serving as our youth and children's worship center, was built in the year 1938. Our Kiddie Kollege, a fully-accredited child development center, was established in 1972. The Youth Center and skating rink, which has now been renovated to house the Kiddie Kollege, was completed in the year 1979.

Mission Statement

We accept, collectively and each believer individually, the great commission as a priority of the church. It is our desire to share as widely and effectively as possible the good news of God's forgiveness in Christ. God equips and calls believers into a variety of vocations and ministries, and within that context each person is to be a witness by word and deed to the Lord Jesus Christ.

The purpose of the church begins with the recognition that we do not belong to ourselves, having been purchased by the Lord Jesus Christ, and that He alone is Lord.

Therefore, understanding the commission and He who heads it, we at Garden Sanctuary pledge our allegiance and our faithfulness to the awesome task of laboring with love for the cause of Christ.
