About
Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital believes in the power of every G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader) to change the world. We offer every girl the opportunity to discover who she is, what she can do, and connect with a powerful community of girls and mentors to make it happen. With unique programs designed by girls, for girls, Girl Scouts explore, learn, succeed and take action to make a difference in their community.
With support from dedicated adult volunteers, parents and staff, we deliver the best Girl Scout experience to 87,312 members: 60,193 girls and 27,119 adults in the Greater Washington Region, which includes the District of Columbia and in Maryland: Allegany, Washington, Frederick, Montgomery, Prince George's, Charles, Calvert and St. Mary's Counties; in Virginia: Page, Shenandoah, Warren, Frederick, Clarke, Fauquier, Loudoun, Fairfax, Arlington and Prince William Counties; and in West Virginia: Jefferson, Berkeley, Morgan, Hampshire, Mineral, Hardy and Grant Counties.
As your local Council, we’re your partner in all things Girl Scouts and we can’t wait for you to get started. If you are a girl looking for a place to fit in and have fun join Girl Scouts, an adult who wants to volunteer to make a real difference in girls’ lives, or a corporation, foundation, organization or individual that wants to support the good work of Girl Scouts, you’ve come to the right place!
