Our goal at Glorietta School is to provide each student with a challenging and rigorous curriculum appropriate to his or her academic level. We believe every child can achieve academic success. To achieve this goal, every child is provided with quality instructional experiences which recognize, support and maintain high expectations for all students. Our curriculum includes standards based mathematics, language arts, science, social studies, art, music, physical education, and technology skills. Another component of our curriculum is character education which includes the values of kindness, respect, positive attitude, honesty, responsibility, and self discipline.

There is an old African proverb which says, “It takes a whole village to raise a child.” While we no longer live in villages, this proverb still holds true. Educating our children requires that we all work together – not for our single issues, but for our greater good which is represented in our children. Children are our future – our collective survival depends on how well we nurture, love and care for them.

The Glorietta community is committed to providing a school environment that allows for maximum learning, sharing, and the success of students and staff. We believe that students learn best in a consistent, safe, and respectful environment. Through character education and classroom instruction, students are taught to develop consideration for others, and we teach and reinforce safe play and work habits. Our responsibility as adults is to help students increasingly assume responsibility for their own actions, to learn from mistakes and to make honest attempts to improve.

Glorietta’s goals correlate directly with the District Strategic Plan, our School Improvement Plan, and the California State Standards and Benchmarks and provide a rigorous instructional program for our students. This unified focus strengthens the development of skills necessary for continuous learning, and prepares our students to meet the ever increasing challenges of the 21st century.
