What started as the Greater Channahon Area Chamber in the mid-90's grew to incorporate the Minooka area by the early 2000's and became the Greater Channahon-Minooka Area Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber was organized to advance the general welfare and prosperity of its citizens and businesses It was involved in presenting informative seminars, supporting community events, providing networking opportunities for local businesses, and keeping updated with issues important to the Villages.

In late 2010 the Chamber membership decided to join forces with the Grundy County Chamber of Commerce & Industry and therefore dissolved the Greater Channahon Minooka Area Chamber of Commerce. Through this expansion, the Chamber hopes to minimize its operating expenses while expanding its programs and services.
