School History

Harry L. Hallyburton Elementary School is a 3 - 5 school located in Drexel, North Carolina. We have a rich heritage and are a great source of pride for our community. Many community members attended this school when it was Drexel High School. Our school has been renovated to house third, fourth, and fifth graders. Kindergarten, first, and second graders attend our “sister” school, Drexel Primary.
Harry L. Hallyburton was a much loved and respected educator and principal of Drexel High School. Mr. Hallyburton’s “Rules for Success” are still the basis for our teaching the “whole” child.
