The Harrison City V.F.D. was the first volunteer fire department organized in this small community situated in Penn Township Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. The residents of Harrison City were made keenly aware of the need for adequate fire protection and made the decision to organize on March 29, 1926 shortly after a disastrous fire. After a temporary organization was formed, the Harrison City Fire Protective Association was born on May 4, 1926.

The Harrison Room is an elegant banquet facility owned and operated by the Harrison City Volunteer Fire Department. It specializes in wedding receptions and other banquets & special events. It seats up to 400 people. Please contact Deb Marin, Rental Agent, at 724-244-6032 for more information.
