HCP is a Coalition serving Rogers County that was created to combat drug and alcohol problems at the community level. For the past year the Coalition has been focused on combatting Prescription Drug abuse and misuse. A permanent drug drop box was placed at the Claremore Police department on the outside of the building so that Rogers County residents would have a place to dispose of unwanted or unused RX meds in a safe manner. HCP purchased a drug dog for the Sheriff's department and the Claremore Police Department this past year to help assist them with drug busts and traffic stops. HCP has funded many projects in Rogers County in an effort to combat this serious issue. In 2009 Oklahoma had 636 overdose deaths in Oklahoma. 86% of those deaths were a direct result of prescription drug misuse. If you would like to be a part of HCP's efforts please come to a monthly meeting. Noon to 1:00pm on the first Friday of every month at the Claremore Community Center.
