The Herman Missionary Baptist Church, Bono, Arkansas, was organized on Saturday, July 12, 1864, during the Civil War. The church was first located across the highway where the Herman Cemetery is now located. They met in a log building. In 1892, L.P. Montgomery and his wife donated the land where the present church building is located. A house was built on the land sometime after that.
