Hopkinton Babe Ruth (HBR) seeks to achieve a balance between participation and competitiveness. We achieve this balance by offering 3 tiers of participation: Minor Level; age 13 & 14, 100% participation Major Level; ages 15 & 16, 100% participation Senior Ruth; 15 yr olds rostered on the High School Varsity team and ages 16-18, team tryouts 5/1 is the cutoff date to establish a player’s age; new this year! Additionally, we will add another tool to help achieve our fun/competitiveness balance; we will carryover the success of our 2005 in-town only pre-season to the regular season. We’re trying this for 3 reasons:

More flexibility in all aspects of Coaching and Administration.

More opportunity to participate in age specific Babe Ruth sponsored tournaments.
