Colorado HorsePower is a non-profit organization located in Castle Rock, Colorado serving Douglas County and surrounding areas by providing equine therapy and teaching horsemanship to individuals with special needs. Our students have physical, mental, or emotional challenges that make our volunteers indispensable. Except for our PATH certified instructors, everyone at HorsePower is a volunteer.
Which is why WE NEED YOU!
Volunteering at HorsePower is a fun and rewarding opportunity that makes a real difference in someone's life. The volunteers at HorsePower are the backbone of our program. We help the students prepare for riding, and keep them safe while they are on the horses, leading the horses and helping the students keep their balance. Most of our students need three volunteers for these tasks.
YOU can make a DIFFERENCE!
Volunteers have a tremendous impact on the lives of our students. Without volunteers, our riders simply could not ride! Our students are all individuals with widely varying needs. We do our best to keep the same volunteers and horse assigned to each student every week, creating a consistent experience. The students feel as if the horse is "theirs" and make a profound bond with not only that horse, but the volunteers that help them as well.
For many of our riders, Saturday morning at HorsePower is the highlight of their week; many of our volunteers feel the same way.
If you like horses and want a rewarding and soul-enriching volunteer opportunity, you will be a perfect fit at HorsePower. Please come and be part of our volunteer team.
