The District is governed by a nine member Board of Education through the superintendent of schools, James Kettrick. The Board of Education has developed the goals below for each of the students attending school at Indian River. The entire educational program is geared toward developing productive, successful citizens through a broad range of stimulating activities and educational programs.

To provide the resources and climate that stimulates and prepares students to:

Become successful citizens
Instill the quest for knowledge.
