It's purpose is to strengthen the legacy of Jacob Hamblin, the legendary peacemaker, trailblazer, colonizer, missionary and friend to the Indians of the southwestern United States, and to raise money to build a monument to this great man in the heart of Kanab, Utah, the hub of red-rock recreation in southern Utah and northern Arizona.
