Jefferson School is one of the eight schools in Park Ridge - Niles School District 64. Jefferson is the home to the Township Special Needs Preschool program. Jefferson is also home of the Dr. Blair Plimpton Staff Development Center. This staff development center was named to honor Dr. Blair Plimpton, Superintendent of Schools, from 1947 to 1970. Staff members from all District 64 schools meet here to work on curriculum, technology and other areas to enhance the education of students in the District.

Jefferson houses the Special Needs Pre-School which serves 3 and 4 year old children with special needs that will impact on a child's education. Within our small cross categorical classrooms, specialized services are offered. These services may include Occupational, Physical, and Speech Therapy, as well as Social Work.

Early Childhood Screenings (for children ages 3 to 5 residing within Maine Township School Districts 62, 63 and 64) are also done at Jefferson. If you have concerns about your child's development, contact the Early Childhood staff at #847-296-6404 for more information.
