The actual first meeting of the Board of Education was July 6, 1951. The John R Lea building was completed in the year 1955. The Dedication and Open House was on Sunday, November 20, 1995. This building was first built for a High School. The first year that it was used as a school was in the year of 1956. The approximate cost of the building alone was $504,000. The approximate cost of the site, building, landscaping, architect's fees, equipment, etc., was $675,000.
