JWCL was founded over fifty years ago to unite young women in promoting the welfare of our community and to enrich its members intellectually and culturally. Today, the club still strives to meet these goals by encouraging its members to develop their talents and interests through a variety of service projects and fundraisers.

JWCL is affiliated with the General Federation of Woman's Clubs (GFWC), the oldest and largest women's volunteer organization in the world. We are also a member of the Virginia Federation of Woman's Clubs (VFWC), Northern District. Federation allows our club's influence to be felt at the local, regional, national, and even international levels.
