Since our inception, Kat Creek Ranch has been a family-owned and operated ranch since the mid-1900s. Our family has hosted many people and events over the years.
Kat Creek Ranch was first purchased by H.W. Alexander. Upon his death, Norma Alexander Martin and Chester Martin started a Simmental Cattle ranch in the 70's to mid-80's.
In the late 80's Chester Martin opened the first Sporting Clay range in East Texas. We were known as Kat Creek Sporting Clays. We hosted many NSCA tournaments, quail and pheasant shoots as well as corporate dinners. Many returned over the years just to have a steak cooked by Chester.
Upon Chester's death, the ranch was closed for family use and enjoyed for 13 years before Norma Martin passed away. It was our grandparents wish that we keep the ranch going. They always loved sharing this land and facility with others throughout the years. So when the time came, we decided to open it back up to the community and once again hear the enjoyment in others voices and see the smiles on everyone's faces
