Mission:
As a community cultural resource, the Kokomo Symphonic Society, Inc. (KSS) is organized to cultivate, nurture and enhance the cultural climate of Kokomo, Howard County and the surrounding region by providing musical programs and experiences that are informative, educational and entertaining.

About Us:

It is our 44th season for the Kokomo Symphony Orchestra (KSO).  The Kokomo Symphonic Society (KSS) is a non-profit organization which coordinates the KSO performances.  The KSO has been delivering world class performances since 1972.  This season we will be offering five concerts; some large full symphony performances and some small chamber, more intimate concerts.   It is our goal to cultivate, nurture and enhance the cultural climate of Kokomo and its surrounding region, by providing musical programs and experiences that are informative, educational and entertaining.

Jose' Valencia is our Artistic Director and Conductor for the KSO.  He prepares and proposes the symphony program to the KSS.  Once approved, Jose begins selecting the appropriate musicians needed for the performance as each musician is contracted for the specific program.    Also, the KSS begins preparing for the new season along with marketing and advertising.

Our Youth Programs run from September to May.  Sean Carey is our Youth Programs Director as well as the Kokomo Symphony Youth Orchestra (KSYO) Director.  Moo Il Rhee is our Beginning and Intermediate Strings Instructor and Christian Starnes is our Cello Instructor.  The program includes strings instruction for students age 9 through 19.  Our Youth Programs is an excellent way for students to learn about strings instruments, how to play and perform in group settings.  The program is reasonably priced so to include as many students as possible.
