Role of the Office for Catechesis - Ministry to Youth and Young Adults

Mission Statement

The mission of the Office for Catechesis ~ Ministry to Youth & Young Adults is to develop a youth and young adult ministry in the diocese that will inspire and invite young people to grow in the Catholic faith.

This mission is accomplished through the following goals:

• To promote the formation of youth and young adult ministry in parishes by providing resources, consultation, and training
• To facilitate participation in diocesan, regional, national and international youth events
• To coordinate the Totus Tuus catechetical program
• To serve as a contact and resource for the Diocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting
• To provide support for Young Adult Ministry
• To convene a diocesan Youth Committee
• To collaborate with other youth and young adult serving groups and organizations, serving on committees as needed
• To assist the Director of Catechetical Services with other ministry responsibilities, curia committees and office functions as needed
