LOWW is an organization dedicated to monitoring and protecting the waters of Lake Oconee. Volunteers perform chemical monitoring monthly at numerous sites around the lake in addition to weekly (spring/summer) or monthly (fall/winter) fecal coliform monitoring. LOWW also sponsors an annual cleanup, Rivers Alive on Lake Oconee, part of a statewide program to remove trash from Georgia's waterways. New volunteers are needed. No experience is necessary, and all training will be provided.
