Lake Panorama National Golf Course offers one of the best-conditioned courses in the state of Iowa. Golf Digest gives the magnificent golf course a 4-Star Rating on its "Places to Play in America." Open to the public, the course also offers several levels of annual memberships, stay-and-play golf packages and corporate golf outings.
Iowa Section PGA and Iowa Golf Association tournaments are held at the course each year, a testament to the course's quality. For instance, the Brokers International, Ltd. Iowa Open is the state's premier professional and amateur tournament. Now in its fourth year at Lake Panorama National, the 2013 event will be held August 16-18, with a pro-am August 15.
The par-72 course, designed in 1971 by Richard Watson, offers 18 holes with a variety of yardages. The black tees play at a demanding 7,024 yards, while the blue and white tees at 6,729 and 6,182 yards offer plenty of challenge. The red tees play at 5,265 yards.
There are five ponds that impact seven holes. The course contour is fairly flat on the front side and rolling on the back. The two sides complement each other, making all 18 holes an extraordinary experience.
